So, here it is, October 18th. I have always loved the Fall season and am always ecstatic when it's time to change the wardrobe around to make room for warmer clothes. The problem here is this... there is no stinkin' cold weather. Did I mention it's October 18th??? The Good Lord gave us a week of lovely, crisp Autumn weather and then decided maybe we weren't ready for it yet. Yeah, it's currently in the upper 80s and very humid. But I still go on as though it's cold. I'm definitely in the "spirit of the season"....pumpkin pie scented candles, hay, pumpkins, mums, etc. out on the front porch, baking, and let us not forget....Christmas music. I am truly my Mother's daughter! So even though it's hot and muggy I refuse to succumb to the summer's lingering.

This evening will be no different, I am baking a bunch of pumpkin rolls (just like the good 'ole days) for friends and maybe one for me. Which forces me to take a merry little trip down memory lane. Hobe Sound Christian Academy , oh the bake sales we would have. My favorite treats were always the "no-bake cookies" and the pumpkin rolls. Those of you who attended, know what I'm talking about. Yum-Yum. I'm adding on the pounds just thinking about it. So tonight will be dedicated to my fellow Hobe Sound alumni. Here's to you, campies! Enjoy your week! :)

Just Me!

This is me!

I love pretty things, things that smell good, like flowers, perfume, and a clean home. I love warmth, like that which is given from a candle lit dinner or by nestling up by the fireplace, or perhaps a "fresh from the dryer" towel after a nice long bath. I love music and the way it allows your soul to jump on it's coat tails and enjoy the ride. How all it takes is that "one" particular song to make you immediately stop what your doing and be transported back in time. I love the sound of laughter and the passion that's reflected off of a good cry. I love the human spirit and all it encompasses. We differ in so many ways but we are ONE when it's needed most. I love the changing of the Seasons and the crashing of the ocean waves, the majesty of the mountains and the way the sun enhances the beauty of one tiny grain of sand. I love rainy days and brisk mornings, sunny days and warm nights. I love the back roads and small towns but thrill at the nightlife in a big city.

Though some of these may sound contradictory, this is life. This is all that God has created. And I want to enjoy every minute of every day that I am granted breath.
